Banaji Eyecare is the only center in India offering the routine use of Topography guided LASIK treatments.
What is Topography Guided LASIK?
Having
had the longest experience with LASIK in the country, many colleagues
refer us complicated cases as also complications from LASIK which
we repair. We consider these unhappy eyes our most valuable and treasured
cases. With the technology we have, it gives us the greatest satisfaction
in restoring vision to those eyes that need it most.
There are many complicated cases where wavefront and customized LASIK would be quite useless. This is where Topography guided treatments gain strength.
The Cornea is Digitally mapped with an instrument called a Corneal Topographer. This gives us a very accurate idea of the lumps and bumps on the corneal surface. It is these irregularities that cause vision to degrade. Using a digital map of the corneal surface, Topography guided treatment allows for us to selectively get rid of these large and small bumps on the corneal surface leaving it smooth and polished at the end of the procedure - in addition to correcting the spectacle number!
The corneal topography picture on right shows how we rectified one of the most challenging problems in refractive surgery.

The red "island" you see in the upper 2 pictures shows
a steep area of the cornea localized in a specific area. After observing
the behaviour of this island for some time we treated it to give the
amazing result you see in the bottom picture. A smooth and even surface
with
a huge improvement in vision.
