The Cost

The Custom LASIK procedure costs approximately Rs. 65,000 (costs may vary according to the complexity of the case - you will be apprised of the exact cost, after your eyes have been examined). This includes not only the cost of the procedure, surgeons fees, laser fees etc, but all follow up visits for a year after the surgery and any enhancement procedure that may be necessary in the year following the surgery.

A word about costs…

It is undeniably confusing for patients to be confronted with a wide spectrum of costs for the LASIK procedure. Many centers perform the procedure for almost half of what we charge. Whilst it is inappropriate for us to comment on the ethics of their methods, we do not believe in placing a discounted value on your eyes. What you pay is usually what you get. Thus when you get a vital organ such as your eyes operated, we believe you should ask the following questions:

Who is going to operate your eyes? What is his name and qualifications ? You do not want to be examined or operated upon by a technician masquerading as a doctor!!!!! Or by a Doctor who "outsources " his surgery to Junior assistants.

At Banaji Eyecare, Dr. Burjor Banaji operates on each and every one of his patients. He personally examines each patient before surgery and also personally participates in their post operative care. We believe that this personal involvement is key to our outstanding results. Know your surgeon.

You want your eyes operated upon in a clean clinical Hospital setting, not in dirty surroundings or in an opticians shop.

We believe your eyes are extremely valuable and will spare no expense in seeing that your eyes remain the irreplaceable organs of joy they were made to be.

We are pioneers in the LASIK procedure. Dr Banaji was the amongst the first few surgeons in the world to perform LASIK and his experience is unmatched.

Dr. Banaji has not trained in the USA and UK. He trains surgeons in the UK and USA.
Our machines are maintained and updated to the highest international standards and are FDA approved.

Our laser software is regularly updated. We do , in many instances, get laser upgrades amongst the first in the world because of our close links with Carl Zeiss Germany as their Center of Excellence in India.

Surgical disposables are just that… disposable. We do not reuse blades 20 times when they are meant to be used once. With the proliferation of the HIV virus (which leads to the disease AIDS) in these times, we feel that this is a Very critical issue.

You will always meet and discuss your case with your operating surgeon before your surgery. You will meet your operating surgeon for all your post operative visits. He will look after you even 10 years after your surgery.

We firmly believe that whilst cost may be one of the factors you take into consideration, it should not be the main factor. Do not look for discounts when you are buying parachutes , life jackets and LASIK surgery!!

You have only one pair of eyes - we care for them with a passion.
